Cellist Dario Destefano and violinist Francesco Comisso created the Gustav Pianotrio so as to continue their long-term artistic fellowship, which found expression in a former piano trio, welcoming internationally renowned pianist Olaf John Laneri.
In this new formation, the three interpreters identify a common ground in which the dialogue among them springs from the cult of sound and the respect of form.
They devote themselves both to the great chamber literature for trio and to the hidden treasures of the Italian chamber repertoire.
In fact, the Gustav Trio combines the compositions of major authors (Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Dvořák, Mendelssohn, Ravel e Šostakovič) with works of composers such as Bossi, Busoni, Casella, Martucci and Wolf- Ferrari, aiming at expressing the Italian tradition in a repertoire free from the most common opera performance.
The Italian instrumental virtuosity, together with the international concert experience of the three interpreters, merge together so as to charge every performance with energy and elegance.
