Laura Capretti

approaches her musical studies after having performed jazz music from an early age and studied Languages and Literature. 

She has graduated in both the three-year and the following master course of studies in vocal chamber music at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Turin, obtaining the highest marks, honours and special mention under the supervision of Professor Erik Battaglia, with whom she collaborates as his assistant at the same University.

She has also attended the HfMT in Hamburg under the guidance of Professor Burkhard Kehring, and has taken part in the Deutsche Lied-Akademie lessons in Trossingen with world famous teachers such as Axel Bauni, Anne Le Bozec, Peter Nelson, Jan Philip Schulze.

As a lover of chamber music she has also attended master classes with Claus-Christian Schuster from the Altenberg Trio.


She is furthermore investigating and experiencing the Opera repertoire with the soprano Luciana Serra at Accademia del Belcanto.


In 2017, she has been granted a De Sono scholarship and the Alberto Motta – Erga Omnes Onlus scholarship and in 2018 she has won the International Renzo Giubergia Award.


As regards her concert activities, she is engaged in an intense concert programme, performing in leading roles for the Unione Musicale in Turin (such as Schubertiadi in honour of great baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau) and in many important musical and cultural events (MiTo Festival; Expressionism Festival in Turin; Mantova Chamber Music Festival; San Giovanni’s Cathedral Academy;  Santa Pelagia; FAI Festival; for Amici dell’Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI; concert in memory of Leone Sinigaglia; the Holocaust Memorial Day concerts; music in memory of Wilhelm Killmayer in Hamburg; Wiener Saal concerts at the Mozarteum University; voice and solo-cellos evening together with great cellist Giovanni Sollima…).


In march 2018 she was invited to Manamah by the Italian Embassy of Bahrein as the european representative for a Lieder and Opera concert during the Spring of Culture Festival. In the same year she makes a debut in the role of Frasquita in the Italian premier of Der Corregidor, a German Opera by Hugo Wolf.


She recently has been selected for the summer season 2021 by the Berlin Opera Academy (BOA) where she will debut as Zita in Gianni Schicchi and as the nursing sister in Suor Angelica, and will prepare at the same time the role of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck.


In addition, she has performed on the National TV Channel Rai3 in trio (voice, nineteenth-century- guitar and baroque flute) with two colleagues with whom she recorded a cd for Halidon.


In 2020, together with a few colleagues, she has set up the Ensemble I Liederisti Italiani, a new vocal chamber music group.
